Internet Marketing in 2012 – my story!

It's been a while since I have posted on my blog so feel it is definitely about time I posted an update! And although my activity has been light on this site recently I can assure you the Journey in the Internet Marketing world has never stopped.

So this blog post is for visitors that find themselves on my site from various backlinks, organic traffic, videos, social media sites etc because at 'present time' I am not pushing or promoting my blog' due to a focused plan I have embarked on and right now my blog is not immediately part of that plan… yet!

This is also for Newbie Internet Marketers and those experienced marketers who have not quite made it yet in the hope that it may inspire you to keep moving forward and maybe me sharing my story of what I've done so far and where i am going with Internet marketing will help as we all start at the beginning and most likely experience the same challenging factors such as 'confusion', frustration and being overwhelmed!

So here goes…

My name is Dereck Celis and here is my journey so far…

My Story

I started my journey by being an 'OPPORTUNITY SEEKER'… but hey.. we've all been there right? Now, if you are still there, or maybe a bit confused, over-whelmed, not sure who to listen to and wanting it SO BAD but still unsure of when it will happen…??
Well, take it from me, this is ALL SO NORMAL and part of your journey… you'll be fine, trust me!

So… when I started looking into this 'online stuff' in Summer of 2010, I thought I discovered the greatest thing on earth… and I knew it was going to be amazing, but made the mistake of thinking it would be a lot easier than it turned out to be.

Then Jan 2011 came round and I was lucky enough to go on an awesome trip called the Annual Marketers Cruise (See me with Mike Filsaime on this page: http://MarketersCruiseexposed.com/).

This was the beginning of where my World and vision started to grow and grow…
Now throughout that time I joined a coaching & training company, which taught some great basics but ultimately they were not the route for me! But I stayed with them in 2011 as well as buying more 'stuff', attending more seminars, made the odd 'expensive' purchase, and then the penny really started to drop!!
The lack of knowledge wasn't the problem… it was the full belief and complete 'mindset' that I discovered was the real seed!

Fast forward a bit until today, and one more Annual Marketers Cruise in Jan 2012 and this is where the REAL PUSH and MASSIVE Eye opener has come from… for me to do things differently in 2012!

I've made some great new friendships and stronger relationships with other Marketers I had met from the previous year and even managed to get some one on one with a handful of well respected top marketers including great words of Wisdom from Mike Filsaime himself!

Since being back I have chosen a new direction and this time with a pure focus of building a real solid foundational business!

I'll say no more for now… just that behind the scenes work is happening that will pay off 100 fold in the future and 2012!

You see, what I realised, but kinda knew before, was that if my 'end goal' is to help the 'many' learn Internet Marketing and create a great income for myself and close others, then it's not the PRODUCT OR BUSINESS that will do it but myself, drive and passion! And the willingness to never quit and always evolving with an open mind!

This has allowed me to meet some fantastic people and surround myself with many many other successful marketers and entrepreneurs. And now I have Marketer friends all over the World that I have actually met in person at some point as well as a good bunch of Marketers around my home city, London, UK.

That's it from me for now… more will come I promise… and just remember that if you really do want to Succeed, then it should NEVER be a matter of "If I succeed…" but a matter of "When you Succeed…"

Are you building a list? This outline and VIDEO tip is where you start…

List building will grow your business and Income

Most people say that TRAFFIC is one of the most important things you should Master to make money online! Now, that is true! But…

 

Have you started building a list yet for your business?

 

Let me ask that another way…. 'Do you want a short lived profit or lots of repeat buyers?'

 

The TRUE fact of the matter is that 'Building a LIST' is the one thing that will grow your business, your reach and prospects who become partners!

So, if you'd prefer Repeat buyers and more PROSPECTS then keep reading…

 

 

So essentially here are the few things you need to start 'Building a List':

 

1) You need an offering or a gift - This can be a paid product but normally free. This can be a newsletter, a video, audio, free tips, or perhaps a mini course… the KEY thing you need to do is OFFER something of VALUE!

 

2) Secondly you need to capture Details – This can be a squeeze page or lead capture page, or even an optin form on your website! Look around my site, to the right or at the top, you will 'definitely' see an OPT IN form of some sort! (So while you're there… Feel free to OPT IN!)

 

3) Lastly, you need a way to keep in touch – This is generally termed as a 'Follow up' process. So, autoresponders are great for that, as they hold the emails and names and allows you to send emails to many but in a personalised way!

 

Ok, the above is brief and not too detailed, but that is my intention… for now! To just introduce or re-introduce to those doing this, the 'Principles behind list building'!

NOW, Let me give you a REAL-LIFE Example of list building:

 

I offer a Free 7 day Video Bootcamp which teaches people, who want to work from home or from a laptop anywhere, the fundamentals of having a successful business!

 

It's great Content & HD quality and covers all the important aspects of having an online business, including, YES the all important List building!

 

1) My offering is 'High Quality' and 'High Value content' – And the cost of that is simply, a name and email address. That's it, now that is VALUE!

 

2) I have 'lead capture pages' and optin forms on my site! I bet if you look around now, you will see one that will ask for a name and email!

 

3) Lastly I have an 'Email Autoresponder system' which makes it easier to keep in touch with everybody that opts in!

 

In conclusion: Ultimately list building is fundamental to 'growing' your business and therefore income!

Facebook Newsfeed changes to Fanpages – but all is not lost…

So is there any point to a Facebook page or fanpage now?

If you have a facebook page (or fan page) as they were previously called, then you should know or now be aware that the latest Facebook changes to Facebook pages means that from 30th September, all your Facebook page message updates in the form of feature "Update Fans" are no longer posted to the Newsfeed! Which means that others, friends and fans will not see your 'Update Fans' message updates anymore… hmmm, frustrating you could argue! Or does this force people to increase their brand? The facebook pages will still be there and general page updates can be seen by your fans, but this is the END of sending messages to your fans!! But… ALL is not lost, and you can still put your updates to even more good use and get exposure from your 'facebook page' updates!
